I still like the series, and hope to be able to enjoy this one at some point too. Feel free to let me know if there are any redeeming qualities I've missed. I acknowledge I'm not that far into it, perhaps it will grow on me with time, but for now the more I play, the more it just makes me want to go back and play Monster Hunter World.

I've seen what they can do, and this falls short in almost every category save variety of enemies.
I feel like I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn't played monster hunter world first, but the damage is done. The animations are not smooth, the polygons stick out at odd spots quite frequently, the textures, especially on the smaller critters are just seam riddled, edge jerking nonsense. The controls feel scattered, the "Cool new moves" just clutter my commands without adding sufficient functional variation to justify them, and despite the photos seen above, all the monsters I've fought just look janky. The rush that was laid upon the developers can be felt with this one. The graphics and attention to detail in the terrain pail by comparison. This game is a cold shadow of what monster hunter world was.
